Announcing "Domain-Driven Architecture"
Last updated 2nd April 2026
I’m working on a new book titled Domain-Driven Architecture.
Architectures are often determined very early, by frameworks, patterns, or deployment models, long before the real nature of a system is understood. Once those choices are made, much of what follows is simply adaptation.
This book explores a different starting point. What if architectural structure were derived first and foremost from business intent and measurable quality attributes? What if non-functional requirements were not constraints applied afterward, but the primary drivers of architectural decisions?
Domain-Driven Architecture builds on ideas from Domain-Driven Design, but shifts the focus from modelling to architecture itself. The goal is to make architectural decisions explicit, intentional, and grounded in what the system actually needs to achieve.
This book turns decades of architectural intuition into a clear, teachable, and economically grounded process for building sustainable software systems.
As the book takes shape, Stefan shares occasional updates, selected excerpts, and early examples. Sign up for exclusive updates and insights into the writing process.
